Last Dance

The Last Dance — 24" x 16"

I had designed a night club called “Life”, the space had a lot of history for me it had been the “Village Gate”. A place that I had worked, made friends, and seen some incredible talent. I like before a space opens to spend part of the night before opening to just be there alone. To think about what I had done, is there something I missed, a touch up or cue that I need to see done to make it the best it can be. I visualize the space full, looking at all the people laughing and dancing. I started to think about the past and future and about the people who would not be there to dance and laugh. Friends who had died from AIDS. This work was created remembering them.
